About this place
Neo-Mudejar icon built by Josep Vilaseca as the main entrance to the 1888 Universal Exhibition. Unlike the Roman or Parisian triumphal arches, this work does not commemorate military victories, but the civil, artistic and scientific progress of the city. Its red exposed brick structure stands out for its sculptural friezes and welcomes the wide tree-lined promenade that connects directly with the Ciutadella Park.
